VIDEO: The Ultimate Bug Out Rigs of Overland Expo Pt. 1

Last weekend 28,000 overland and off-road enthusiasts gathered at Fort Tuthill Park in Flagstaff, Arizona. Our very own Tyler White was there looking for equipment to outfit his truck, but he was also checking out all of the amazing rigs that people have built for extended backcountry travel.

In this video, you’ll find Tyler’s walk-through of Michael’s, aka Drive the Globe, LMTV. You have to see this rig to believe it. It’s literally a home on wheels and a very nice one at that. Michael is no stranger to building amazing rigs, just check out his social media channels, and this truck is the culmination of his experiences. With the ability to travel with solar power almost indefinitely and onboard water filtration, his only limitation is fuel capacity.

In this video, Tyler checks out a Jeep owned by Down to Mob Overland. And while a Jeep is a perfectly capable platform, this Jeep is far from stock. With a custom-built camper, modular furniture, satellite communications, and onboard water. It offers plenty of convenience in a capable package that’s riding on 40-inch tires with upgraded axles and too many upgrades to list. Check out this video to see a truly unique Jeep. We can’t wait to see how this build progresses.

Tyler White is one of those rare creators of online survival content who is amply qualified. Growing up on a ranch, Tyler learned about homesteading and preparedness as a way of life, taught by grandparents who had lived through the Great Depression. Although he had already worked at a guide in Alaska, served with U.S. Army, Tyler knew there was more to primitive survival than he could learn from military schools or other outdoorsmen. His passion for primitive survival drove him on a quest to track down the most knowledgeable instructors in the field, traveling from Utah to the Amazon to Canada and finally back to Utah. Like all competent survivalists, Tyler has experience in a broad range of subjects. Highlights from his background includes criminal justice, law enforcement, archery, small arms, amateur radio, farming, gardening, raising cattle, and poultry. He has attended classified schools, worked in law enforcement, studied too many martial arts to list, and achieved the rank of 2nd Dan in Shōrin-ryū karate.
